A Sparkling Celebration in the Gallery
Newcastle Art Gallery Director Lauretta Morton OAM, Foundation Chair Suzie Galwey, and Newcastle Art Gallery Society President Prue Viggers OAM were delighted to welcome members for an evening of sparkling celebration in honour of the momentous reopening of our Art Gallery in 2025.
Held beneath Kinyingarra Guwinyanba (Off Country) by acclaimed artist Megan Cope, the event was an opportunity to recognise and thank the members whose generosity and commitment have contributed so significantly to the Gallery’s expansion.
Guests enjoyed bubbles and canapés as the Hunter Valley Strings filled the Gallery with Christmas carols, creating a warm and festive atmosphere befitting this important milestone. The evening served not only as a celebration of the year’s achievements, but also as a heartfelt acknowledgment of the community that continues to champion the Gallery’s future.
Thank you to all who attended and shared in this special moment. We look forward to celebrating many more milestones together as we enter an exciting new chapter for Newcastle Art Gallery.
