In early May, 30 major donors received an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the transformation of our city’s beloved art gallery during a special hard hat tour. As generous supporters of the ambitious expansion project, these guests were invited to step inside the construction zone for a firsthand view of the progress they are helping make possible.
Guided by Gallery Director, Lauretta Morton OAM and City of Newcastle Project Manager Matthew Bennett, donors explored the newly designed spaces, including expanded exhibition areas, state-of-the-art loading facilities as well as flexible art education and gathering spaces. The tour offered an insight into the gallery’s future, where art and community engagement will thrive in a reimagined, world-class setting.
“This project wouldn’t be possible without our donors’ generosity,” said Gallery Director Lauretta Morton OAM. “It was inspiring to share this moment with the people helping to bring our vision to life.”The hard hat tour served not only as a milestone celebration but also as a powerful reminder of the impact of Philanthropy and community investment in the arts.
