Rowena Talacko

Rowena Talacko is a respected arts professional with extensive expertise across the visual arts, film and design sectors. She currently serves as Head of VIP Relations for Sydney Contemporary, Australasia’s leading annual art fair, where she plays a key role in cultivating and managing high-level patron and stakeholder engagement.

Rowena also manages The Laverty Collection, one of Australia’s most significant private art collections, and leads a consultancy service, The Art Collection Manager, specializing in collection care and management for private collectors. Her curatorial work includes Collectors’ Space: Finders, Lovers, Keepers presented for Art Month in 2020, showcasing her ability to shape compelling exhibitions with broad public appeal.

Earlier in her career, Rowena worked as an Art Consultant at Artbank, collaborating with clients to select and showcase carefully chosen artworks from one of Australia’s largest public art collections. She began her professional journey in film production with the Australian Film Commission (now Screen Australia), later contributing to iconic Australian films, such as ‘Muriel’s Wedding’ and ‘Strictly Ballroom’. This creative foundation led to the establishment of her own interior consultancy business before transitioning into the visual arts full-time.

Rowena brings to the board a strategic understanding of both commercial and not-for-profit environments. Her expertise spans collection management, curatorial practice, stakeholder relations, and cultural programming. With her diverse background and commitment to the arts, she contributes a unique perspective grounded in best practice across private, public and philanthropic sectors throughout Australasia.
