Ian Andrews
Board Member

Ian holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy, is a Member Pharmaceutical Society of Australian. He is a self-employed Pharmacist.

A keen researcher, observer and collector of art through an association with the HawkesburyOne Group – a 10 year citizen art collecting collaborative, he shares its focus on the collection of Contemporary Australian Art. This has provided an insight into how a collaborative collection project extends beyond the reach of the individual. The collection was exhibited in 2011 at the Newcastle Art Gallery “Citizen collection” exhibition.

Ian has opened his house and collection to the NAG Society “art crawl” and as a member of the NAG Foundation and Society he believes that Philanthropy and the creation of an environment to encourage giving to the arts a core component in supporting a strong public art collection, benefits all of our community.

Ian brings skills in team building, stakeholder engagement, advocacy and management, and a great knowledge of the Newcastle Art Gallery and Foundation and visual arts to the Board.

NAGF Director since 2015, Convenor, Membership & Development Committee and Website coordinator.
