Mark has over 35 years of experience in industry and education specialising in strategy, business planning and finance for investment decision making, mergers, acquisitions and divestments. Industries which Mark has been involved include mining, steel, recycling, distribution and logistics. He was a keynote presenter for seven years at the annual Australian Steel Institute economic and industry briefings at all Australian capital cities. He is presently a Strategy and industry consultant including consulting to Australian steel industry as well as to the World Steel Association. Mark is also a council member of the Global Leadership Group which provides professional expertise to a broad base of companies in many industries.
His more recent board and committee experience includes a non- Executive Director, Automated Positioning Systems Pty Ltd, Chairman World Steel Association Electric Furnace Feed Expert Team and Member, World Steel Association Raw Materials Committee. Previously Mark has been involved with various sporting clubs including treasury, president and committee positions.
Mark is experienced at dealing with investment bankers, legal consultants, strategy consultants and financial banks as well as senior executives in major corporations and the public sector.
Mark brings skills in strategic thinking, decision making and implementation, investments, governance, knowledge of the Newcastle Art Gallery Foundation and advanced skills in management and finance to our board.
